Acorn Theatre Company is an amateur dramatic society based in Enfield, Palmers Green, North London N13. We present a pantomime and musical annually at the Intimate Theatre, with the profits from these productions donated to local registered charities.
Based on the 1998 smash hit movie of the same name (starring Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore) ‘The Wedding Singer’, actually set in the 1980’s, tells the story of Robbie Hart (the singer) and waitress Julia Sullivan, who are both engaged to be married - but to the wrong people! With a score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980's, ‘The Wedding Singer’ takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Proceeds from this production will be donated to the North London Hospice (Charity Number 285300).
Since we were founded in 1989, Acorn has been donating proceeds from our productions to local registered charities. Our total donations are now over £70,000.
We have an active social life and many extra activities to get involved in such as Face Painting, Backstage Work, Costumes and Drama Workshops.
Feel free to contact us for further information about the group and auditions for our current show.
